NECK LIFT REVIEWS

"Neck Lift December 2016. It's July 2017 and my neck and lower face look great. No more little jowls, neckline is smooth. I do look 15 years younger. Excellent, personable, professional staff. This doc is GOOD at his job is an understatement."

"He is Doctor and Surgeon You Can Trust! - Dr Kasden will talk with you at length about what your goals are and how he can help you achieve them. He will give you honest advice on what to expect every step of the way. This is my second surgery procedure with Dr Kasden. My first was a neck lift with coblation on my face to get rid of fine lines. I am so happy with both results. I have also received Botox many times- always with natural results. He is a surgeon that will follow up on his patients much more than any other doctor I have ever known. He really cares! Sharon, who runs the office, is a joy as well as being professional and helpful. I am grateful to have found Dr Kasden and his staff!"

"For some years now, I’ve been looking to reduce the “signs of aging” and dial back a few years on my neck and lower face. My neck was sagging, slight jowling, and wrinkle bands etching on the skin around the front of my neck. Too much sun!! I kept the neckbands at bay for a few years with botox injections. My face is in good shape, round cheeks, not a lot of deflation. I wasn’t in a hurry, so over the past 4 years, I spoke to 3 different surgeons. A few talked about a face lift… but my face wasn’t showing the age like my neck and the jowl area. One day, I looked on the RealSelf website and came across a photo of a patient of Dr. Kasden who had done exactly what I was looking for, a clean defined neck and better definition around the jawline. I made an appointment with Dr. Kasden and took the photo of his patient I found on the website with me.1. Consultation. I showed Dr. Kasden the photo of his patient and explaining that is what I want done as well… a necklift and a little cleaning up around the jawline. He went into detail about the steps in the procedure to get that outcome, drawing a diagram of the side of a head and showed where the incisions would be made, the nipping, tucking and stitching. He was direct in telling me the area around the incisions would be numb for a while the nerves reconnected. Pricing on the procedure was very reasonable. 2. Procedure. I chose to have the procedure in the office, meaning no general anesthesia and being fully awake. Understand that Dr. Kasden must have gotten straight A’s in chemistry because the man is a genius when it comes to “mixing the right cocktail of medications” to bring you to a twilight state and keep you pain free during the procedure. I have no memory of the procedure even though I was awake. What I did have were sensations - pulling and pressure - but no pain.3. Post-procedure. Now you would think that after a procedure where a quarter of the side of your face (including the back half of your ear) has been severed/unattached from your head you would have pain during the recovery. The pain that I did experience was mild and lasted 36 hours. On the top part on the back of my ear where the stitches were, about a day before the stitches were to be removed, it hurt where my glasses sat on my ear. As soon as the stitches were removed, the pain went away. 4. Staff and Nurse who assists with procedures. Top notch, responsive, personable, sharp. Totally in tune with patients and Dr. Kasden. The team works together seamlessly.Right now, I am just about 5-1/2 weeks out from surgery. The incisions have pretty much healed, each day the feeling in the area comes back and I am able to stretch my neck up little by little. No real complications. Historically, when I heal from stitches, I can get small “lumps” along the incision and sure enough, on the incisions lines behind my ears, I got a couple of those lumps and Dr. Kasden fixed those and all is well."

"Dr Kasden is the Best! - Dr Kasden will talk to at length to find out exactly what is bothering you and what results you are wanting. He thouroughly explained everything to me and answered ALL my questions (and I had a lot). I chose to to the procedures in his office procedure room. I never felt anything. I swelled up a lot after my procedures, but Dr Kasden followed up with me constantly. When he takes you on as a patient - you work together as a team. When he says to call him if you have any concerns, he really means it! Dr Kasden did a neck lift and coblatiion on the skin around my eyes and mouth as well as he did some fat grafting to my eyes. I love my results! Not only is Dr Kasden a great surgeon, he is an artist - which I thinks helps him in his work. Dr Kasden’s staff is awesome as well! Sharon and Stephanie make you feel like old friends while always maintaining professionalism. I highly recommend Dr Kasden!"

IDEAL CANDIDATES FOR NECK LIFT SURGERY

Patients hoping to undergo neck lift surgery generally have visibly loose, hanging skin in the neck region. This loose skin is generally caused by several factors including major weight loss and aging. Regardless of the reason, sagging neck skin creates an unflattering look, which can only be corrected with skin removal and tightening. If you are at a healthy weight, but you feel challenged by sagging folds of skin, surface lines, and wrinkles on the neck, a neck lift may be a suitable option.

SURGICAL TECHNIQUE FOR NECK LIFT

During neck lift surgery, general anesthesia is used. An incision is placed behind or in front of your ears, and another one may be placed under your chin. If pockets of fat exist, liposuction of the neck will be performed first. Following that, any loose skin will be removed and the remaining skin will be pulled tight. This technique is performed until the desired shape and contour has been attained. Although sutures are used, scarring should not be seen since they reside under your chin.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM NECK LIFT SURGERY

After a neck lift treatment, there will likely be some bruising, swelling, and moderate discomfort, but these effects will fade around 7 – 10 days. You should rest and avoid strenuous movements and activities for 2 – 3 weeks to assist in the recovery. During this time, clothing should not touch the neck area. You should see visible results almost immediately. In fact, it has been said that the neck lift treatment can make one of the biggest impacts to a person's profile, shaving years off your appearance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT NECK LIFT SURGERY

How much does a neck lift cost?

The cost of your neck lift can be discussed during your initial consultation with Dr. Kasden. Once he has created your treatment plan, he can estimate costs for the facility, anesthesia, and more. To help make your neck lift affordable, we accept many payment methods and we can give you information on low-interest medical financing.

What about nonsurgical options?

Surgery is the only way to remove loose skin, especially if it hangs or droops. While there are some nonsurgical skin tightening treatments that can produce some improvements, surgery is the most effective solution to smooth and redefine the contours of your neck. A new and popular treatment called Kybella reduces fat in the upper neck, which causes a double chin, but it does not correct loose skin.

Will I have visible scars?

A neck lift does require an incision under the chin and two more near the ears. However, these are placed so they are very difficult for others to see. Dr. Kasden makes every effort during your surgery to minimize visible scarring. You will also be given scar care instructions that will help your incisions heal properly so they are thin and flat.

Can I combine a neck lift with other facial surgeries?

During your initial consultation, you can mention that you may be considering another procedure, such as a facelift or a chin implant, in addition to a neck lift. It is common for these additional procedures to be combined to achieve the best results. If you have any concerns about a weak chin or undefined jawline, talk to Dr. Kasden so he can create a comprehensive treatment plan.

Should I get a neck lift or liposuction?

Depending on your needs and goals, you may consider combining a neck lift with surgical liposuction. This can help if you have both excess skin and stubborn pockets of fat in your neck. Dr. Kasden will help you decide whether a neck lift, liposuction, or both should be part of your treatment plan during your consultation.
